=D Nice idea!

Now we just need to get Alex to do an album cover and we can start our soundtrack listening!

EDIT:

Oh!

And Issue 1, a soundtrack?

We never had a preview, BUT, how could anyone not consider THIS song?

I meant, an "official" one. I don't think we ever had one...

Say, is it just me or do most if not all of the songs in the soundtrack feature, or reference, death and/or mortality in some way?

...I'm gonna need to just grab every single issue I have and listen to them all while reading, I'd need a while to go through all these songs, but definitely the most recent few have all had death as themes =o

Aaaaand, issue 5, would the song have happedn to be 'if we can land a man on the moon' by Beulah?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCpIyP1gAUI

Just going back to the thread and saw dtrip mention this one afterwards =O Would need to message him or James himself to ask?

The title of the issue was a song reference, if that counts?

It doesn't count. James didn't post it. :P

You read my mind! But I woulda called it "MTMTE Mixtape" or "Mix Tape Meets The Ear" or something.

No soundtrack for #1.

The missing #5 one stumped me too. James?

And I think "Easter Parade" was technically a #6 song.

Good work!

You know I'm not going to be able to resist a thread like this. 'More Than Meets The Ear'...

For the life of me I can't remember the missing song from issue 5 - was it something by Morrissey? I'll keep thinking about it. In the meantime, here's a replacement: 'City Sickness' by Tindersticks.

And for the sake of completeness, let's have two for issue 1:

Here's 'Across the Universe' by Fiona Apple (the definitive version, he says controversially):

And 'Absent Friends' by the Divine Comedy (I know, another DC song):

I made a Spotify playlist: http://open.spotify.com/user/guntrip/pl ... 8VmV6xc1Kh

(although obviously track availability may vary outside the UK)

Also, John Darnielle from The Mountain Goats is the best songwriter of the last gazillion years and if I could only listen to one thing ever again it would be their All Hail West Texas LP. thanks bye
MEET ME IN THE BASEMENT :: an online radio show, playing new and old indie rock type stuff. basically, great music and awkward periods of silence. Thursdays, 10pm UK time. YOU SHOULD LISTEN.

A MTMTE compilation album should be made available on itunes etc.

With linear notes from James and cover art from Nick and Alex.

While not really my type of music it probably would be a hit.
