So, what inspired you to be the writer for the Applejack micro?

And more importantly, what's it like on the other side of the editing desk?

Indeed, it is Brenda Hickey! Her concept work is looking great, I'm excited.

I just had an idea I thought would work. Plus my wife was tired of me writing about violent animals all the time (you'd have to read some of my other work, like Battle Beasts or Night of 1,000 Wolves to get that).

I've always been a writer, so it's my first home. I hit my deadline, so I'm not too angry with myself!

Oh cool, I hadn't seen the solicit for Applejack's micro and awesome news that you're writing it! I can say Bobby is a fantastic writer and works super hard on every thing he does, not only from his IDW editorial work but from the Comics Experience workshop back in the day too.

Was Wondering if you knew if Hot Topic was gonna sell issues #7 & #8 as well, I mean it would be weird to end half way through an arc?

Also, can't wait for your Micro-Bobby sounds fun, looks like the Apple family is gonna get A LOT of love come July between Big Mac's story in the mane and your AJ tale in the micro!

Also, any concrete plans to expand the micro's yet, or will they still end at six.

And finally, whats up with the Digests? Isn't it a little early for so many reprints? *not that i'm complaining, but yeah* Also are they monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly?

Sorry for all the questions.

But yeah, keep up the great work!

Hi Sound,

Yes, Hot Topic #7 cover is done and off to the printer. #8 is in discussion, I think it will be a go.

Thanks for nice words! Yeah, July is sorta Big Mac month! (though his role in the micro is pretty minimal)

I think I can confirm that there WILL be more micros! You'll have to wait a month to see what the next one will be though!

The Digests are specifically meant for the book market, I believe. As such, I think the idea is to get them out to the masses in a timely manner. Not sure how often they'll be... I imagine it will depend on how the first one does. But it's not my department, I really don't know much about it.

No problem, questions are what I'm here for!

Sweet, glad to hear things are still going well, I look forward to seeing what IDW has in store for the franchise! Keep up the great work you guys!

Edit: Quick question, will either of those Hot Topic Covers feature Octavia? I mean we got a Vinyl Scratch & Lyra cover, might as well complete the set of musical ponies, t'would be fitting considering the store.

So, I saw this tweet from show runner Meghan McCarthy and all I could think of was "Hey, isn't Bobby also the Editor for Godzilla comics?"

What do we need to do to make a Godzilla/My Little Pony crossover happen? Because it needs to happen.

Ha, that would be awesome. I'm afraid Toho isn't too interested in Godzilla cross-overs at the moment. I think MLP would be especially difficult.

I suppose anything is possible, but don't plan on any crossovers any time soon.

Honestly, unless another licensor is very familiar with the world of Pony, I think a crossover is going to be a fairly hard sell.
