Question about newer Transformers Classic trade paperbacks

Postby OptimusFan » Tue Mar 20, 2012 7:05 pm

Hi, new here and couldn't find an answer to my question anywhere....so here goes.

The new re-publishing of the original Marvel Transformers comics is currently on Volume 2, with Volume 3 to be released in the next few months.

Question is, will this be the last volume or does IDW plan on re-releasing more? I could not find a definitive answer to this, but had high hopes that the whole series would come out at somepoint.

I have been a big fan of Transformers in general since a kid, but never was able to read all of the comics.

Any information would be great and thanks in advance.

I always figured that IDW did Transformers Classics so they could print the issues they weren't able to when they did Classic Transformers.

I was just assuming the whole run was being reprinted. I don't see much of a reason to stop since there were issues in the later part of the run that weren't reprinted in the original Classics TPB series. Not to mention, most people probably don't want half a run in one format and half a run in another, although maybe not everyone is as anal retentive as me.

After the first couple releases of the original Classic trades, I stopped getting them because they didn't include everything. I'm sure IDW will complete the set as it has not only includes all of the material, but has been marketed as "remastered and recoloured."
The preceding post is OK to print.

Id agree that Id say IDW will reprint everything. At least UK. Id love to see those famous black and white stories coloured at some point in the future.

IDW will be printing more Classics volumes, containing all the US and UK run... and hopefully they'll finally get around to G2 as well.
Some ideas to improve the comic: One: Drift needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Two: whenever Drift's not in an issue, all the other characters should be asking "Where's Drift"?

Strange that Man of Iron is being included, when:

A. it's out of US continuity, and
B. it's just been reprinted in vol 1 of Classics UK...

Still, such a great story deserves as much exposure as possible.

The recoloring? Only thing I can think of.

Man of Iron was used as a fill-in story in the US run, so it gets included for the sake of completeness.

Also yeah, the version printed in the US had new colouring from Nel Yomtov, so that'll provide a decent distinction.

Though printing "Trial By Fire" and not the Headmasters mini-series is insufferable dumbassery.
